You can enhance your diagram by adding data to shapes.
To import data from an external source click on "Import Table from File" in the Actions menu of the Data tab of your SmartPanel.
You'll see this dialog:
This dialog lets you choose a file and import its data to attach to your diagram.
Format your data in a CSV, XLS, XLXS or tab delimited text file.
Browse to where your data file is stored and select it to import it into SmartDraw.
Once imported you can associate data with individual shapes in your diagram.
Your data table should have a schema that matches the type of diagram you're importing to. For example, a floor plan may have a list of objects with a description and asset number while an organizational chart will have a list of people with position, phone numbers, leads closed and generated, and so on.
For example, you may organize your floor plan data like this:
