If you switched from the old SmartDraw for Windows to the new SmartDraw, you can easily find and connect all your existing files.
Finding Existing Files on Your Desktop
Like you would use "Computer" on the old SmartDraw for Windows, you can choose Import from the Dashboard and then select SmartDraw on the Dashboard to find old files on your desktop.
Clicking on SmartDraw lets you find and open existing files on your computer.
You can drag and drop your files or you can click on choose files to browse your desktop.
Once you selected your files you can import them to SmartDraw's main directory by clicking Import Selected Files.
By default, the destination folder selected is the main SmartDraw folder. Click on Change Folder and you can choose from any of your existing folders or create a new one. For example, you can easily recreate the folder tree you have on your desktop. Alternatively, you create a new "Desktop Import" folder to store all your transferred files.
You can even choose to import your desktop SmartDraw files to any connected 3rd party storage services.
Simply choose a different service from the drop-down at the top of the modal.
When the import is complete, you can find your files under the Recent Documents section of the Home view or the Documents view of the Dashboard. If you chose a different folder, make sure you drill down to the folder or 3rd party storage provider you selected.
If you ever need to save your file back out as an SDR, you can do that from the Template Browser. Simply, right-click on the preview of the file you want to save and choose Export and the SDR will be downloaded to your desktop.
