The generated floor plan will be full editable by SmartDraw’s intuitive yet powerful set of floor planning tools.
Step 1: Start with a Floor Plan Template
To generate a floor plan using SmartDraw AI, you'll first have to pick a floor plan template. AI floor plan generation is only available from a scaled drawing template. So be sure to start with one of SmartDraw's many floor plan templates.
Step 2: Switch the SmartPanel to SmartDraw AI
Once you selected a floor plan template, simply click on the star or sparkle icon in the left bar to switch the SmartPanel to the SmartDraw AI view.
Step 3: Enter a Prompt
In the prompt section, describe what you'd like AI to build you. You can use AI to get general layout concepts for houses and commercial buildings. Type in your prompt and hit the send icon in the lower right corner to send your prompt to the LLM.
For example, try this prompt:
Design a modern 3 bedroom 2 bath open-concept farmhouse
You can ask the AI for revisions or continue to edit your floor plan using SmartDraw.
Step 4: Edit Your Generated Floor Plan in SmartDraw
Once it's close enough, you can take over editing your floor plan in SmartDraw using all the symbols and power of SmartDraw's floor plan creator.
You can add more furniture.
You can flip or move doors and windows.
You can move walls.
