Allow users with existing Entra ID access to import and build organizational charts of your entire organization, group, department, or team.
This integration requires at least one Microsoft Account with an Entra ID.
First, log into My Account.
Select Integrations from the left panel.
Click Connect next to Entra ID Import.
The integration is read-only, reading users details and the manager field to build the hierarchy. No Data is written to your Entra ID.
NOTE ABOUT PERMISSIONS:
Running the org chart import will be done under the end user's credentials and what they can see will be governed by the user's permissions. While the SmartDraw enterprise application requests permission to "Organization.Read.All", if the end user does not have permission to use that scope in Entra, it will fail with an insufficient privileges message. In other words, running SmartDraw to build an org chart does not grant new permissions to the end user, only uses what they are already allowed.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIP:
If you're still getting authorization or permission errors after following the steps above, you may need to authorize the SmartDraw app from within the Entra admin portal.
Navigate to the Enterprise applications.
Open the SmartDraw enterprise app you are using. In this case, it will be named "SmartDraw Org Chart Azure Extension" or something very similar. Go to Permissions on the left hand navigation tree and then click the blue "Grant Admin Consent" button.
