SmartDraw integrates tightly with OneDrive and SharePoint, allowing your users to save SmartDraw files directly into your existing folder structure. In most cases, users can link SmartDraw to either service without an administrator needing to approve. In some configurations, an administrator is required to approve all apps. If that is the case for you, you can enable all your users to link to Microsoft storage from MyAccount.
First, log into My Account.
Select Integrations from the left panel.
Click Connect to allow your users to link SmartDraw with SharePoint and OneDrive.
Select your account:
Click Accept to authorize SmartDraw.
It's that simple.
Refining SharePoint Sites
You can further refine your end users experience by limiting what sites are shown. If you have a large Sharepoint deployment with 100 or more sites, this can also improve performance.
After successfully connecting Sharepoint, return to Integrations in My Account and click on options.
Show all sites users have access to. This is the default. Users are sometimes surprised at the number of SharePoint sites that their users have permission to view.
- Hide public and private groups. Filters out Groups, such as those automatically created by Microsoft Teams, and only shows true SharePoint Sites.
- Hide subsites. Depending on the structure of your SharePoint, hiding subsites can make navigation easier in SmartDraw. This option will hide subsites as top level folders, but still be accessed under each site.
- Only show sites users are following. For large Sharepoint deployments where users follow the sites they use frequently, this will offer the best experience. Keep in mind that it only works if your users follow sites in Sharepoint, otherwise this will display no sites in SmartDraw.
- Only show sites selected by admin. If you want to restrict sites displayed in SmartDraw, this is your best option. When selected, you will be presented with a list of all sites available, and you can enable only the sites you want displayed. This is ideal when you want to keep all SmartDraw documents in a single Sharepoint site for governance purposes.
