There are three ways to connect to 3rd party storage services in SmartDraw:
- Under the Documents view from the Dashboard
- The Save As dialog
- Using the Storage options under Integrations on the Dashboard
Connect under Documents
From the Dashboard, click on Documents. Once in the Document view, bring up the drop down menu for Add Storage and choose Microsoft OneDrive®.
You will be prompted to login to your OneDrive® account.
Agree to let your SmartDraw connect to your OneDrive® by clicking Allow.
You can now save any diagram to OneDrive® using Save As in the File tab.
Connect from the Save As Dialog
Alternatively you can also add a new service like OneDrive® right from the Save As dialog. Just click on the logo under Add Service or Add New under the Save To drop down.
Connect from Integrations
One final place you can create a connection to Microsoft OneDrive is under the Integrations section of the Dashboard. Click on Integrations and then select Storage.
On the next screen, choose OneDrive and follow the prompts to connect.
Save to Microsoft OneDrive
Once connected, you can save to Microsoft OneDrive by selecting it under Save To in the Save As dialog. You can choose from any existing folders on your drive or create a new one if needed.
All shared folders from that 3rd party storage service will be available and inherit the permissions set on that service.
You don't have to worry about setting up your system in SmartDraw's environment, just continue working with what you've already set up.
Shared folders will be marked in blue, so you know anything saved to those folders will be shared with others.
SmartDraw will work seamlessly with your existing setup.
Find Documents on Microsoft OneDrive
Once you have documents saved to OneDrive, you can easily find them again under the Documents view by clicking on the Microsoft OneDrive tab.
OneDrive® for Business
If you want to connect to OneDrive® for Business follow the above steps, but make sure you're the account admin. If you're not the account admin, please ask your OneDrive® account admin to create the link between SmartDraw and OneDrive® for the connection to work properly. When an admin links their OneDrive® account to the SmartDraw license, they will be given the option to authorize the connection for everyone in their domain.
Please also make sure that your OneDrive® account allows third party apps to be connected to it or whitelist SmartDraw's app.
