Using shape data, users can attach model numbers, pricing, vendor information, and other data directly to symbols in a floor plan within SmartDraw. That data can then be exported as a manifest or added to the floor plan to help contractors and businesses create estimates, equipment lists, and proposals.
A manifest is simply a report that combines data for all the shapes into an easy to read table. You can choose what items to include and what information to include about the items. For example, you could get a count of chairs, desks, or security cameras for a project.
First, make sure you're in data mode by clicking on the Data icon in the Left Bar.
Next, click on Actions and choose Generate Manifest.
You can choose which items and what data to include in your manifest by clicking on the check-boxes on the list presented. You'll see a preview of your data to the right.
Once you're happy with your selection, you can choose to Copy to Clipboard, Create Table (this will be inserted into your document), or Save to File, which will export the information as a CSV file.
In the example below, you'll see we added the table of information right next to the floor plan. You can see the types, numbers, and cost of security cameras included in this proposal alongside a diagram showing where they will be placed.
The table can be modified to fit the style and look of your floor plan for a professional finish. Use the options in the Home tab to modify the color of rows for a professional finish and use the commands in the Table tab to add additional rows for additional labeling as needed.
Use the Home tab to style your Manifest.
Use the Table commands to add additional rows for labels if needed.
The final drawing can combine data and your layout for a professional proposal.
