SmartDraw has a cloud storage service that houses your saved files.
While you are working on a visual in SmartDraw, your visual is automatically being saved to the cloud storage service every few seconds, with the name of "Document (Number)."
Renaming a Document
To rename your file, simply click the existing name and type in a new name to replace it with and hit Save.
The file is immediately saved and is now renamed. You can do this any time in the future if you want to change the name of your document.
Saving a Template using Save As
When you start with one of SmartDraw's built-in templates, you can save it by renaming it the upper right or you can go to the File tab and choose Save As. This is the only time you'll see the Save As option here.
Save As lets you name and save a template as your own unique document. Once saved, you won't use Save As to rename. Instead, just type in the upper right corner of your app to rename your document.
If you want to make a copy of your document with a different name, you can use Save a Copy. This preserves the original document with the original name and makes a copy with a new name and location you choose.
Creating a Copy of a Document
You can also create a new copy of any existing documents by choosing Save A Copy from the File tab. The dialogs are identical.
In the dialog that pops up, you can name your document, choose a folder, or even select a different storage service like Google Drive or OneDrive.
