You can find map templates in the Maps & Geography category under New Document on the dashboard.
Every map is a collection of specialized symbols that represent countries, states, counties, and other regions. They behave like regular SmartDraw shapes. You can use the commands on the Home tab to change Fill color, change their border color or thickness. You can even resize them if necessary.
Changing The Look of Selected Regions
Once you have a map open, you can change the look of designated regions, countries and states. Select a shape, and in the Home tab click on Fill and choose a different color, gradient or texture.
Add Pins and Other Symbols
Every map template opens with a library of pins and flags you can drag and drop to your diagram.
Click on the symbol you want and drag-and-drop it to your drawing area.
Finding Additional Symbols
Use the Search for symbols field in the Symbols area of the SmartPanel to the left of your workspace to look for additional symbols. Type a keyword and start the search by clicking the magnifying glass icon.
Symbols matching the query will be grouped by the libraries they appear in.
Hover over any symbol to see its name.
You can drag and drop symbols you find directly from the search results.
You can save the results for later use. To pin just the symbols that matched your search from a particular library, click on the plus icon next to the library's name and select Add result.
You can also pin the entire library by clicking Add library.
