You can easily create a shape that contains other shapes. This is useful if you want to move multiple shapes together like a single unit, without grouping them.
A shape container can also contain other shape containers.
In fact, with SmartDraw, you can turn any shape into a container.
Step 1: Draw a Shape
The first step is to draw a shape you want to turn into a container. For example, you can draw a rectangle using the shape tool from the toolbar.
Step 2: Transform Your Shape into a Shape Container
Next, go to the Design tab and click on Grow Properties.
In the dialog that appears, select Behave as shape container.
Now when you add shapes to this shape container, you can move the container and the shapes within it will move together.
