Adding Symbols

The SmartPanel contains some common UML diagram symbols. You can add them to your diagram 3 different ways:

  1. Drag and drop: click to select a symbol and without letting go of your mouse drag it to your drawing area
  2. Stamp: click to select a symbol and click again anywhere in your drawing area to add the selected shape
  3. Draw a line and choose a symbol: Once you already have a shape on the page, you can click any of the yellow dots on the perimeter of the symbol to start drawing a line and add any shape from the menu that pops up. The menu is pre-populated with some commonly used symbols, but it will learn what you prefer to use and update the options automatically.

Changing the Line Style

With a line selected, you can easily change the arrowhead and line style by selecting one of the options under Line Style in the Line subsection.

Reverse the Direction of a Line

You can reverse the arrows on a line by clicking the Reverse Direction command on the SmartPanel.
